Terms of Service

Ruchi helps you cook, but it cannot promise that a recipe is accurate or safe for your dietary needs. Always check the recipe and the food in front of you.

1. Agreement

By using Ruchi you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app. Ruchi is made by Kornayas.

2. What Ruchi is

Ruchi is a cooking app that suggests recipes, manages kitchen information and helps you write or import recipes. It is not medical advice, nutrition advice or a food safety authority.

3. Where the recipes come from

Most recipes included with Ruchi come from TheMealDB, a free recipe database. We adapt them into Ruchi's format so they work consistently with the rest of the app. We also write some recipes ourselves.

4. Who can use it

Ruchi is intended for people aged 13 and over. If the law where you live requires permission from a parent or guardian, you must have that permission.

5. Food and dietary safety

Ruchi works from the information available in a recipe. It cannot inspect your ingredients, know which brands you use, or account for manufacturing changes and cross contamination.

Ruchi does not certify that any recipe is safe for a dietary restriction, allergy or medical condition. If the consequences of a mistake could be serious, check the full recipe, product labels and suitable professional guidance before cooking or eating it.

6. Accuracy

Recipes, quantities, times, servings, calories, suggestions and imported results can be incomplete or wrong. Automated processing can misunderstand, omit or add information. Review a recipe before relying on it.

7. Your content and backups

You keep your rights to content you create or import. You are responsible for having the right to use imported material and for respecting the rights and terms of its source.

Most of your cooking information is kept only on your device. You are responsible for making backups. Clearing the app, uninstalling it or losing the device can permanently remove information that was not backed up.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Break the law or infringe the rights of others
• Work around access or usage controls
• Automate bulk requests or interfere with the service
• Use online features for unrelated or abusive processing
• Extract, copy, republish or resell a substantial part of Ruchi's built-in collection

9. Trials, subscriptions and usage

Ruchi may offer a trial and paid subscription features. The access, duration and price shown in the app when you subscribe are the offer that applies to that purchase. Reasonable usage controls may apply to protect the service from abuse, faults and excessive automated use.

The app store handles payment, renewal, cancellation and applicable refunds under its own terms. Cancelling normally stops the next renewal rather than ending an already paid period. When paid access ends, content you created is not deliberately deleted merely because the subscription ended.

10. Changes to the service

Ruchi will change over time. Features, trials, subscriptions and online services may be added, changed, limited or removed. We will try to avoid disrupting ordinary use, but continued availability is not guaranteed.

11. Availability

Online features depend on networks and other services outside our control. They may be interrupted, delayed or unavailable. Ruchi is provided as is and as available, without a promise that it will always work or be error free.

12. Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Kornayas is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, lost data, lost profits, or losses caused by relying on inaccurate recipe information. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of what you paid for Ruchi in the previous twelve months or ten Canadian dollars.

Nothing in these terms removes consumer rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

13. Ending access

We may restrict access to online services when reasonably necessary to protect Ruchi, other users or service providers, or when these terms are seriously or repeatedly broken.

14. Changes to these terms

These terms may change as Ruchi changes. The date at the top shows the latest revision. Continuing to use Ruchi after updated terms take effect means you accept them, where permitted by law.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without removing rights you have under the law where you live.
